Let’s dance!

Saturday, September 4, 2010

What’s up bichtes? Feeling all gangsta today, sorry about the tough talk! But I’ll make it up to you! I got some party tracks right here for all of you! Get ready to shake that ass! First to share: the best track this week is one hell of a discotune made by Friendly Fires and Azari & III! These two groups apart make some great stuff, imagine what they sound like together! Beautiful and relaxed disco but with a heavy dancevibe! Especially the vocals “It’s a cold world out there…” make this track such a big tune! LOVE!

Friendly Fires feat. Azari & III – Stay Here

After this hot disco, time to makes things hotter and harder, right? But we’re building up a nice climax so the hardest stuff is kept for the end. That’s why we got an nice electro house tune for you all! Eskimo Twins are killing it lately and getting attention on big blogs like Pelski and artists like Chemical Bros and Fake Blood. Back with a big tune called “Droit”, these guys are ready to conquer the world! Let’s move to this bleeps! If you want another track for free, tweet them!

Eskimo Twins – Droit

Getting harder and harder, time to tell you about Distroize! A fresh Belgian electro duo, which makes tracks to let you destory the place! Raving synths, big beats and bass and some very tight productions. Nothing more needed to destroy a dancefloor! Have a listen on their soundcloud or download their track “Toxic” for free here:

Distroize – Toxic

To close off after the big climax and the hard stuff, time to get everybody back to planet earth with this laidback but oh so funky tune:

LexiconDon – Student Body (Bit Funk Remix)

Peace out homies!

Summer’s back!

Thursday, September 2, 2010

Yeah, finished my exams and now it’s vacation time again. For those hard partying people in the academic year and hard studying people now, a few hints to get back into vacation mood! Aka: my favourite summertunes for this year (and I’ll try not to repost anything):

First up is a song from a band who made one of my favourite 2010 cds: Fool’s Gold! I must be the badest blogger around because I’ve listened a million times to this cd and didn’t made a post about how great this band is, sorry for that! But to inform you now: With Fool’s Gold you get nothing else but the best summervibes right here! Some sunny guitars and rythms, like only Vampire Weekend can make (and from now on also Fool’s Gold can make), some Hebrew singing (how cool is that!) and the best part: their cd is full of this! Greaaaaaaaat. Let the summer (re)start right now:

Fool’s Gold – Surprise Hotel

Another track which made my summer is “Baby I’m Yours” by Breakbot. Together with Aeroplane’s “We can’t fly” ony of my favourite disco(ish) tracks this year. This guy knows how to make one very very catchy song! When I listen to this track, I do it for 5 times in a row and slap myself for forgetting how great this track is and not playing this one 24/7. Just have a listen and get funky!

Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours

Third band that made a soundtrack for my summer is the big 2010 hype The Drums. But being hyped is not a reason to dislike a band my dear reader. That’s why we are proud to say: We Love The Drums! But since they already got featered a lot on this blog (that’s right, we started the hype. Now kick us in the nuts!) we have something special to share with you! 2 great covers made by the drums. First one is a download and a cover by “We used to wait”, the great new Arcade Fire song. Second one is a Supremes cover, the best one of the two but a youtube vid. Check them out:

The Drums – We Used To Wait +     The Drums – Where did our love go

Last one in this list is Patti Smith. Not at all a fresh tune but a great one though. From her most famous album “Horses”, this icon made one of my favourite tracks EVER! Okay it’s a cover but probably the best cover ever made. Starting relaxed and silent, “Gloria” gives me the dancing fever at the end of the song. This  really is a greaaaaat track, believe me! Enjoy it:

Patti Smith – Gloria

I know a short list, but hey I got vacation! Gotta go into the garden, kicking it with a cocktail and party all night long!

Peace!

Electric Romance.

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

We got two nice track for you guys and girls! First up a nice funky and dancy re-edit by Peo de Pitte of his own remix of Drumattic Twins – Crazy Love. It’s a lovely tune and contains portions of the tune Gusto – Disco’s revenge! This new one comes so far with heavy radio support from Andi Durrant at Galaxy UK and Peo’s original remix of Crazy Love saw support from artists like Groove Armada, Fake Blood, Rico Tubbs, Laurent Garnier…. Not bad at all, hope you like it:

Peo De Pitte Vs Drumattic Twins – Crazy Love

Second one, isn’t a partytrack but a great laidback tune. Canadian’s The Modern Men send us this track (incl free download!) and we loved it from the first listen. Some laidback electropop to match perfectly with a nice summer evening. Grab it here:

The Modern Men – Electric Romance

enjoy these!

Hypes.

Saturday, August 28, 2010

I tought, this time I won’t go with the flow and follow these hypes by posting them on this blog, but damn these tracks/groups are just to good to let them pass by. So you may already know these bands, but for the people who don’t: check them out, they are really worth it!

Let’s begin with one of the greatest tracks released this year: “King of the Beach” by Wavves! It’s on their thirds record already and to be honest I’ve never heard of them but that’s no bad thing, staying underground. But now I’ve discovered Wavves and I am happy I did, “King of the beach” is such an awesome song! Tight drums, happy guitars and some catchy vocals. Really a great song, live an awesome sing-along! Other songs are sometimes a bit similar but still there is enough diversity so the cd never gets boring. Another favourite is the more psychedellic “Post Acid”. This music is called Lo-fi punk, which means recorded in a “bad” DIY way, but it all gives it more love by us. Happy to let you get to know this band, You gotta check out Wavves:

Wavves – King of the Beach

Next is softer, sunnier and has a great folk touch. The guys and girl from Allo Darlin’ give you some of the sunniest and happiest songs you’ll hear this summer. If you want a comparison: Slow club but in a more mature version. Some happy guitars, flute and vocals. This is pure summer. I love this cd! Have a listen at one of their songs!

Allo Darlin’ – Dreaming

Another hype in the making: the new Interpol album. A lot of people who wants be indie or want to be the person who knows all the unknown bands hate that other Joy Division clone called Editors but love Interpol. No idea why, I like them both. As example the new song leaked from their upcoming album sounds great! Barricade gets them back and closer to their debut album, and far away from their 2007 ‘Our love to admire’. Thank god for that! Have a listen and countdown to their new album:

Interpol – Barricade

Last hype for today: Miami Horror. They make some bloody nice stuff. Dancy disco tunes with the most catchy hooks I’ve heard this summer! The track “Holiday” is stuck on repeat in my head, but that’s just fine because it’s a goddamn nice tune! Disco will rule 2010!

Miami Horror – Holiday

Keep them hyping!

Danceable Tracks.

Thursday, August 26, 2010

We got some new songs for you: electro, house, indie, rock, danceable, non-danceable… A bit of everything!

First up is a great indie song made by O. Children. It’s called “Dead Disco Dancer” and has everything to become a small radiohit: Some catchy and basic guitar and bass riffs together with a Joy Division like vocal: deep and strong. Loving it, maybe you will too:

O. Children – Dead Disco Dancer

Time to bring you some funky beats and basslines. What beter to present you here then the latest Beataucue remix? Nothing I guess…. A hit called “Get Outta My Way” from the new 2010 album by pop-princess Kylie Minogue made into a housy electro clubtrack. Very danceable!

Kylie Minogue – Get Outta My Way (BeatauCue Remix)

A track I found on great electro blog Bit Beats and made by resident K!tch, this time together with Kids At The Turntable. A weird title, but a great track! House bleeps and beats are made to a firework track! Everybody will go “oohh” and dance their ass of on this one! Check it out:

K!TCH ft. Kids At The Turntable – Kel Klet Ce Peï (Original Mix)

British ravy indieband Does It Offend You, Yeah? is finally back with some new stuff! After their great debut, they’ll release their second album called “Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You” in 2011. As a preview they offer us a free track called “We are the Dead”. Starting of as a ballad like rock song, electronic come to help at 1 minute and make this song very danceable and enjoyable. Get it here:

Does It Offend You, Yeah? – We Are The Dead

For the more raving people we got a hard remix by DickNasty! He took on Rad Omens “Rad Anthem”, some hard beats, some raving synths and some robot vocals. Fun!

Rad Omen- Rad Anthem (DiCkNaStY! electroRIOT remix)

First heard about Fenech Soler thanks to the Herve remix from their track “Lies”. Checked out the original and really loved it! Some catchy and very danceable indierock with an electro touch! Very cool, for all you hipsters! Forget about Airship, Timie Tempah, Tame Impala or HURTS; Fenech Soler is your new favourite band!

Fenech Soler – Lies

That’s it for today!

Track Update!

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

After the mixtapes, a selection of the best tracks we found in our mailbox and on the internet while we were gone (or have been released today):

Fever Ray – Mercy Street (live)

First up a very new track by Fever Ray! Karin Dreijer Andersson (I want to be called like that, what a great name) took Peter Gabriels Classic “Mercy Street” and put it in a typical and genius Fever Ray jacket. Some hollow beats, dreamy electronics and spooky vocals make this song a great own FR version. This tracks will be released today, but we give you a live version. If you like the live one, buy the original one too!

Broken Glass Heroes – Let’s Not Fall Apart

A lot of people asked me to put this song on the blog, so here it is. It’s one of my favourite summer 2010 songs, and made by a new project of Tim Vanhamel (this guys i a genius, starring in bands like Evil Superstars, Millionaire, Eagles of Death Metal, Disko Drunkards….). It has a big Beach Boys feel and one of the greatest sunny summervibes ever! Have a listen and buy the album when released and go to one of their shows, like on October 29th in Het Depot Leuven! Maybe see you there…

Skitch ‘n Hitch – Frequencies

Skitch ‘n Hitch send us over this track, is has a funky sound and some catchy vocals. We love the background sound which goes up and down (no idea what the instrument is, but we like it) and gives the song a bit of a special twist. Great dance tunes, have a listen but be warned: the vocals are stuck in my head for a day now….

The Living Graham Bond – Winter Hunter (Shooting Horses Remix)

Shooting Horses is back with a great big bass remix from killer track “Winter Hunter” by TLGB! A nice build-up to 2.49, perfect for a nice and classy party. Get it for free at his soundcloud!

Don Diablo – Who\’s your daddy (Rubix remix)

Great electroproject Rubix made a remix for Don Diablo’s latest track “Who’s your daddy”. Much beter than the original, Rubix made a disco-like version of this track with great and funky beats. Makes my wanna dance James Brown Style!

Gtronic – Sucker Punch (Mr Physix Remix)

Dirty Electro you asked? That’s what you get with this great remix by Mr Physix. The very tight track “Sucker Punch” by Gtronic got an oldskool rework and got some big bass and vocals added. Great stuff, but can’t beat the original.

Crookers ft. Yelle – Cooler Couleur (Ac Slater remix)

Waited a long time for this remix to come out, but it’s finally here! Some great club vibe in this remix by Ac Slater, at around 1 min, the coolest part of the song starts. We still prefer Junkie XL’s rework but this remix has more a club touch and good enough for a crazy party. Get it!

Chromeo – Dont Turn The Lights On (Aeroplane Remix)

A lot of people were dissapointed by the Aeroplane album (I personally loved it), so to make it up to you Vito made this amazing remix from Chromeo newest single “Don’t Turn The Lights On”. Aeroplane always puts the sun into every track they/he touch(es), the main reason why I like them so much. Oh, and don’t forget about the other (former) pilot, Stephen, who’s back with a great new project The Magician. He made a great disco mixtape with killer tracks like the Villa remix of Admiral Freebee, grrrrrrrrrreat!

Boney M – Daddy Cool (Fake Moustache Remix)

Fake Moustache is back with a great remix he made! 70’s Classic “Daddy Cool” got remixed into a very danceble disco version, great stuff! We love this guy, and the best news: free download for everybody at his soundcloud! Hooray!

Keane – Clear Skies (Villa Remix)

To close of this post, a new Villa Remix! Not released yet but I found this rip on the WWW. Probably a youtube rip, but ’till the release much better than nothing… Again Villa kills it and gives you the best summerbeats around. These guys are doing everything great lately, can’t find one thing I don’t like by Villa. Hope they will release some more stuff soon!

Peace out!

Aeroplane.

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Finally, the internet reveals the debut album “We can’t fly” made by Aeroplane. After Stephen left, Vita is the only pilot left but that doesn’t mean Aeroplane is less great. Still at the top of Belgian Electronic music, their disco is some of the best summermusic you can find these days. We had a listen and loved (almost) every track on this album! This album could go straight in our top 10 list “best 2010 albums”. Next to supersingle “We can’t fly” other songs like “Without Lies” or “London Bridge” got us hooked to this album. The nice balearic disco vibe on this record is irresistible and together with some tracks like “I don’t feel” and “The Point of No Return”, which have a more rocky sound (but are our least favourite tracks), this debut album gives a lot of variety and never gets boring or repetitive. We give you our two favourite tracks (after “We Can’t fly”), but when the album will be released, don’t hesitate to buy this album because you’ll love it for sure!

Aeroplane – London Bridge

Aeroplane – Without Lies

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Mashed Paper Klub Records has a new Ep for you guys and again, all tracks are for free! Damnit we love these guys!  The new ep is made by Wazabi – an electronic music duo from cologne -  and has 1 awesome track with 2 great remixes. The original one is called “Optimus” and has a sound which reminds me of the slower and less wild Justice tracks like Stress or New Jack. Beside that a more disco sounding remix made by Yama Dirty Crew, which is my favourite track on the EP. And as a last track, a remix made by Mashed Paper Klub, a harder version of the original, typical MPK style. 3 lovely tracks you can enjoy while party-ing! Get them now:

Wazabi – Optimus

Wazabi – Optimus (Mashed Paper Klub Remix)

Wazabi – Optimus (Yama Dirty Crew Remix)

Esmorite – Shoot ‘em in the head Mixtape

Belgian Dj Esmorite made a nice mixtape containing some Electro, techno, trash and house and has choosen some brilliant tracks. DON DIABLO – WHO’S YOUR DADDY (A.SKILLZ REMIX)

DON DIABLO – WHO’S YOUR DADDY (BLACK NOISE REMIX)

Next up: Don Diablo! The Dutch dj is back, hitting a lot of blogposts lately, this guys is on fire! He is going to release a new track on August 2 called Who’s your daddy?. This id not his best one, he’s trying too much to be a rockstar in this track but he should stay in the dj scene and make some bangers like “I’m not from france”. But we received some remixes too and will share them with you.

Modek – Pink

Modek made this crazy track with some big basslines! This is really heavy and has the capacity to make a big club explode and turn the dancefloor into one big riot. Really loving Modeks style here! Support this guy and buy some stuff on beatport!

Trashing Teenagers – Cubes (Original Mix)

Trashing Teenagers are the newest and hottest electromasters from Belgium.

The Chemical Brothers – Swoon (Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas remix)

The Chemical Brothers are about to release their new and seventh album “Further!”! Maybe you’ve already had a listen to the great single “Swoon” (we already offered you the Don Diablo remix) and now we offer you an even greater one made by the great duo Lindstrom & Prins Thomas. Have a listen, this vibe is really great!

Biggy & Smalls – The Poopoo

Biggy & Smalls are giving their best with this funny and raving song called “The Poopoo”. Some cool vocals and great beats make this a very nice electro track. Have a listen and spread the word!

Pinball- Wrong

Some nice and chill-out music! Some trip-hop vibe here with some sensual vocals on it. Pretty good stuff!

That’s it for this mega post! Have fun with it!
