Let’s dance!

Saturday, September 4, 2010

What’s up bichtes? Feeling all gangsta today, sorry about the tough talk! But I’ll make it up to you! I got some party tracks right here for all of you! Get ready to shake that ass! First to share: the best track this week is one hell of a discotune made by Friendly Fires and Azari & III! These two groups apart make some great stuff, imagine what they sound like together! Beautiful and relaxed disco but with a heavy dancevibe! Especially the vocals “It’s a cold world out there…” make this track such a big tune! LOVE!

Friendly Fires feat. Azari & III – Stay Here

After this hot disco, time to makes things hotter and harder, right? But we’re building up a nice climax so the hardest stuff is kept for the end. That’s why we got an nice electro house tune for you all! Eskimo Twins are killing it lately and getting attention on big blogs like Pelski and artists like Chemical Bros and Fake Blood. Back with a big tune called “Droit”, these guys are ready to conquer the world! Let’s move to this bleeps! If you want another track for free, tweet them!

Eskimo Twins – Droit

Getting harder and harder, time to tell you about Distroize! A fresh Belgian electro duo, which makes tracks to let you destory the place! Raving synths, big beats and bass and some very tight productions. Nothing more needed to destroy a dancefloor! Have a listen on their soundcloud or download their track “Toxic” for free here:

Distroize – Toxic

To close off after the big climax and the hard stuff, time to get everybody back to planet earth with this laidback but oh so funky tune:

LexiconDon – Student Body (Bit Funk Remix)

Peace out homies!

Fly Lo and Gonjasufi Post

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Two artists who have release respectively two of the best albums of this year are  releasing some new shit soon. Of course I’m talking about Flying Lotus and Gonjasufi, for those who don’t know these guys, shame on you! But still, I’ll give some heads-up for those who can’t follow (see that’s how friendly I am).

Flying Lotus is family from famous jazz-musicians Alice and John Coltrane (no mercy for people who don’t know who John or Alice Coltrane are) and he’s a musician and a producer, who makes hip hop injected with so much other genres you can’t really call it just hip hop anymore. He mixes jazz, dub step, hip hop, IDM, ambient and so much more in one great rich musical pile of pure gold.

The other guy I was talking about, Gonjasufi, is a discovery by Flying Lotus whou found him in San Diego where he was dj’ing, rapping and last but not least teaching yoga. Gonjasufi first made a guest appearance on one of Fly Lo’s albums and was then noticed by Warp records who offered him to record a CD, and so he did. Also this wasn’t just pure hip hop, not at all, it was a mix of ballads, folk, soul, … .

The two Cd’s I was talking about are Cosmogramma and A Sufi and A Killer, respectively from Flying Lotus and Gonjasufi, if you still looking for some great music to spend the end of the summer with then this is the shit you should listen to!

So far for the heads-up, here’s the real news Flying Lotus is bringing out a new EP, called Pattern + Grid World which will be released on the 20 th of september and Gonjasufi is releasing a remix CD called The Caliph’s Thea Party that comes out somewhere in the beginning of october. Warp Records which is the label where the CD’s will be released on is giving us a sweet preview of the two albums by letting us listen to two songs out of it. Here are the Links:

Gonjasufi – Ancestors ((Dreamtime) Mark Pritchard Rmx)

This remix is really intriguing it stretches the song out, beats it up, gives it some punches in the nuts and then leaves it somewhere bleeding to death in a dark alley, I know this really seems like a bad metaphore but that’s how I fell after listening to the song. So it isn’t really one to dance on, except for when you’re really realy really stoned or something,  hey we can’t always dance! But It’s a great remix, just give it a chance.

Flying Lotus – Camera Day

“This isn’t jazz, hip hop, dubstep at all!” I hear you say: jup that’s Flying Lotus. But it’s still a damn good track and there’s something to dance on here so maybe you Dj’s could throw this one in one of your sets or maybe not, you’ll see…

Enjoy,

TRB

White Russia.

Saturday, August 28, 2010

For this post I have to thank the wonderful dutch blog Hadrian Est Où? I’m following this blog for a while now and I am always surprised with the nice music on it. Today I read something about White Russia. Not the cocktail, but a London based duo. I listened to “The Solution” and really got blown away. It sounds fresh and reminds me of Portishead with a twist of The Knife. Really nice track, unfortunately their isn’t any webshop with these tracks available, nor a free download. Thank god for soundcloud in this case, where you can listen to all 4 tracks. That’s the good news, there are 4 tracks made by this band! Really loving “Charmless State” too. But actually every song has been on repeat today and everytime I’m surprised about the greatness of these songs! Got to keep track of these guys, so do you! Check out some songs, My 2 favourites right here:

White Russia – The Solution

Dance!

Friday, August 27, 2010

My post titles aren’t that original lately (have they every been?) but that’s no thing to worry about when I got 2 things to share with you from (upcoming) Belgian talents! First up is a mixtape made by Supreems, Antwerp based Dj’s that made a killer mixtape! Already making people dance on Laudry Day (2nd time this year!) and 10 days off or in clubs like Make Up and Noxxx, these guys got the right references. They send us a mixtape and I loved it from the first second, what a great intro track! Some minimal and house beats mixed in a very smooth way! These guys know how to select tracks for an awesome mixtape! Loved it and now you will too! Check it out and give these guys some love:

Supreems – Holiday Mixtape n°2

Second talent is Keire, which you might already know from his collab with DJVC. After mentioning this name you should already know: I’m presenting you some dubstep music. Some great and hard basses with some twisting sound, it all sounds great! Have a listen:

Keire – Death Physics

Enjoy these two and support these guys!

As a bonus, Tiga gives you his remix of “Shelter” by The XX. He succeeded to keep the dark atmosphere of the XX track but still give it some nice danceable beats. Enter your e-mail and get it for free:

Facility.

Friday, August 20, 2010

One of the best French unknown electronic producers gave us a new track! Kn1ght is back! His new track is called “Facility” and it sounds epic. The high tone intro reminds me of Danger on his best and the beats could go perfectly into a Dead Disco Drivers set. Great stuff here, loving this guy! Great news for people who like it, more is coming up! A remix of Pornopink is ready to be released and Hunt part II is coming  up too! After the first part of Hunt, we can’t wait to hear the sequal! But first, check out “Facility”:

Track Update!

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

After the mixtapes, a selection of the best tracks we found in our mailbox and on the internet while we were gone (or have been released today):

Fever Ray – Mercy Street (live)

First up a very new track by Fever Ray! Karin Dreijer Andersson (I want to be called like that, what a great name) took Peter Gabriels Classic “Mercy Street” and put it in a typical and genius Fever Ray jacket. Some hollow beats, dreamy electronics and spooky vocals make this song a great own FR version. This tracks will be released today, but we give you a live version. If you like the live one, buy the original one too!

Broken Glass Heroes – Let’s Not Fall Apart

A lot of people asked me to put this song on the blog, so here it is. It’s one of my favourite summer 2010 songs, and made by a new project of Tim Vanhamel (this guys i a genius, starring in bands like Evil Superstars, Millionaire, Eagles of Death Metal, Disko Drunkards….). It has a big Beach Boys feel and one of the greatest sunny summervibes ever! Have a listen and buy the album when released and go to one of their shows, like on October 29th in Het Depot Leuven! Maybe see you there…

Skitch ‘n Hitch – Frequencies

Skitch ‘n Hitch send us over this track, is has a funky sound and some catchy vocals. We love the background sound which goes up and down (no idea what the instrument is, but we like it) and gives the song a bit of a special twist. Great dance tunes, have a listen but be warned: the vocals are stuck in my head for a day now….

The Living Graham Bond – Winter Hunter (Shooting Horses Remix)

Shooting Horses is back with a great big bass remix from killer track “Winter Hunter” by TLGB! A nice build-up to 2.49, perfect for a nice and classy party. Get it for free at his soundcloud!

Don Diablo – Who\’s your daddy (Rubix remix)

Great electroproject Rubix made a remix for Don Diablo’s latest track “Who’s your daddy”. Much beter than the original, Rubix made a disco-like version of this track with great and funky beats. Makes my wanna dance James Brown Style!

Gtronic – Sucker Punch (Mr Physix Remix)

Dirty Electro you asked? That’s what you get with this great remix by Mr Physix. The very tight track “Sucker Punch” by Gtronic got an oldskool rework and got some big bass and vocals added. Great stuff, but can’t beat the original.

Crookers ft. Yelle – Cooler Couleur (Ac Slater remix)

Waited a long time for this remix to come out, but it’s finally here! Some great club vibe in this remix by Ac Slater, at around 1 min, the coolest part of the song starts. We still prefer Junkie XL’s rework but this remix has more a club touch and good enough for a crazy party. Get it!

Chromeo – Dont Turn The Lights On (Aeroplane Remix)

A lot of people were dissapointed by the Aeroplane album (I personally loved it), so to make it up to you Vito made this amazing remix from Chromeo newest single “Don’t Turn The Lights On”. Aeroplane always puts the sun into every track they/he touch(es), the main reason why I like them so much. Oh, and don’t forget about the other (former) pilot, Stephen, who’s back with a great new project The Magician. He made a great disco mixtape with killer tracks like the Villa remix of Admiral Freebee, grrrrrrrrrreat!

Boney M – Daddy Cool (Fake Moustache Remix)

Fake Moustache is back with a great remix he made! 70’s Classic “Daddy Cool” got remixed into a very danceble disco version, great stuff! We love this guy, and the best news: free download for everybody at his soundcloud! Hooray!

Keane – Clear Skies (Villa Remix)

To close of this post, a new Villa Remix! Not released yet but I found this rip on the WWW. Probably a youtube rip, but ’till the release much better than nothing… Again Villa kills it and gives you the best summerbeats around. These guys are doing everything great lately, can’t find one thing I don’t like by Villa. Hope they will release some more stuff soon!

Peace out!

Some electro tracks we’ve found in our mailbox, keep sending!

Dicknasty! – Not a club mix

Dicknasty already made some nice partytracks, nog he’s back with some cool new stuff. Our favourite new track: “Not a club mix”, some synths which start of normal but after a while start to flip and go crazy, and even get really dirty and hard at 1.16. Loving it!

Swedish House Mafia – One (Sean Linman GET UP! Bootleg)

Sean Linman edited the biggest summerhit this year “One”, he didn’t change much but what he did made it supereffective to get a party started!

DJVC ft. Wonkap – All ’bout Money

Some big dubstep tune by DJVC, this time featering Wonkap. Typical hard dubstep rythms starting, climax coming up and then: hell breaks focking lose! This one is HARD! and this guys is talented, loving it!

Nudge Nudge Nudge vs Katrina and the Waves – Walking on Sunshine remix

Our favourite Polish producer Nudge Nudge Nudge is back with another great remix! This time he threw “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the waves in the blender, you won’t recognise this song, but it’s a really great remix. Laidback but happy, a great summer soundtrack. If you like this remix, you can vote for it here

Monseigneur XIV – Heartphones

Closing this post with the best track we got this week, “Heartphones” by belgian brothers Monseigneur XIV. These guys make some electronic music from time to time and with this track they did a great job. Some Drum ‘n Bass rythm, mixed in with a jazzy feeling and some fancy piano tunes. Reminds me of the great classic “Brown Paper Bag” by Roni Size. Get it (here as a download) while we are still allowed to share it with you guys!

Enjoy these!

6 x Daft Punk!

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Great news! You can have a listen to 6 new daft punk songs (or at least a parts of them) from the upcoming movie “Tron legacy”! We already put some songs on this blog that might have been made by daft punk but now it is certain that Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo have made these tracks. The full album will be out by the end of 2010 or beginning 2011, let’s hope that day will come soon! You can listen to the tracks on the website of American radiostation The End or at the official Tron Legacy youtube channel. The tracks sound epic, typically movie soundtracks and less danceable like their hits, but it’s Daft Punk so it will be awesome. Can’t wait to see this movie and hear the soundtrack. Enjoy these!

Eyes Wide.

You guys want to hear an awesome tune? I got one for you guys! Fool’s Gold made a remix of  ”Eyes Wide” by Local Natives. It’s not the summery rock we’ve used to hear by Fool’s Gold, but a bit electronic and even some partyhardy hip-hop! Check it out, it’s free thanks to RCRD LBL!
