Seabright.

Saturday, July 31, 2010

Want some melancholic music that reminds you of Explosions in the Sky or Jackie-o Motherfucker? We got something for you: Seabright! A duo from the USA, making music with some great melody, sometimes hard sometimes soft but always great with those distant vocals that make you float away and dream about paradise. When I heard this music the first time, it really made my day. It’s great! But (there’s always a but…) the songs are really short, which makes it hard to get into the mood for their songs but when you found the repeat-button this problem is solved! A lot of free tracks on their soundcloud, we present you our favourite:

Seabright – Rachel and Ryo

Great instrumental track, with those same pure and clear touches of guitar strings reminding me a lot of one of my favourite bans Explosions in the sky. But still they get their own sound! Be prepared to get blown away!

Atlantic Line.

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Time to tell you about a fantastic band called Atlantic Line! This LA based group takes elements from great bands like Sigur Ros, Pink Floyd, Flaming Lips… and creates a very nice own sound. They released an album called “Exit to Intro” and give it away for free! This album is full of great post-rock music and beautiful layers of noise. Have a listen at every track on this album and download your favourites! Our favourite ones are “Big Brother” and “Collectors”. Big Brother gives us some great post-rock which starts slowely and peacefull to explode at the end. Together with some emotional vocals, this band deliveres some great class here! Collectors has a nice build up and some electronica like 65dos would use. Great stuff! Be sure to listen to all the tracks, they are all very nice! Get it here:

Godspeed!

4 more tracks.

I found 4 nice tracks while brosing the web. Have a listen, i’m sure you’ll like them!

Damian Marley & Nas – As We Enter

Nice mix between Hip-hop and reggae with Nas & Damian Marley which has a bit of a retro touch in it. Some nice vibe in this track with a great sentence going like this: “I got the guns, I got the ganja”. Funny and great at the same time, love this type of hip-hop.

Yolanda Be Cool – We No Speak Americano (Hector & Nate No Speak Bass Remix)

After the remix by Vhyce, this one by Hector & Nate is my favourite remix from We Speak No Americano. Of course, the original is the best version, but Hector & Nate gave it a more housy twist. Some bouncy beats and drums with the greatest parts of the original track. Great stuff, best part they offer it as a free download!

Brodinksi – Arnold Classics

I have this track already a while, but this is just to great I have to share it with you. Brodinksi for president!

Electric Dreams Myspace

More post-rock vibe with Electric Dreams. Another project by the guy from Bloody Disco, but this time some dreamy and lovely electronica.

Enjoy this!

After all the electro, some nice and quite music now! A friend from Frontal Noize gave me some names of promicing Post-rock bands! We have to agree, these bands are lovely and we want to share them with you! Even with some free MP3s! Go get them:

Say hello to my kids – A century ago i felt fine

In the middle of this song, hell breaks loose and this becomes an epic post-rock song, the genre we love to hear!

Next band get the comparisson with Ef. Great to hear and even greater to hear is their music! They are called Youth Pictures of Florence henderson and are just great!Check out this youtube vid and be amazed. Some melancholic singing and guitars that bring you some fine and explosive music, loved this! Their latest album will be released this week and will be available on Frontal Noize!

Last up, is a famous English post-rock band called Maybeshewill! Some typicall elements from post-rock combined with electronics used in a apocalyptic way (65dosstyle!). At the end this track is even really danceable! Which means this is really good and we love it! Best part: free last.fm download!

Maybeshewill – Co-Conspirators

Together with Summer of Glaciers (which we made a post about, some days ago), this guy will perform at NX35 festival in Denton. He send us a track called “A Life (for the Lost)” and is featured on his recent release on Flowers/Paranormal St.

I will give you some nice tunes, you should know. Here we go:

Fake Blood – I Think I Like It

A very Poppy tune from Fake Blood, not bad at all.

Huoratron – Alphabet City

Flipping beats and blips make this song awesome!

Crookers Feat. Kelis – No Security

Crookers go dubsteppish together with a rapping Kelis. We think it’s nothing special but probably another big hit.

Grum – Heartbeats (Joe & Will Ask? Remix)

A great remix from an even greater track! Disco-style booty-shaking. Get the original Here.

Chromeo – Night by Night (Siriusmo remix)

Siriusmo remixed the new single from Chromeo and we have to say: “great job dude”.

Au Revoir Simone – Another Likely Story (Neon Indian remix)

After the Aeroplane remix we gave you, here’s another remix from Another Likely Story. If you like psychedellic electronics, check out this song!

The XX – Crystalised (Rory Phillips Mix)

The big XX hit Crystalised is now really dancy thanks to Rory Phillips!

Fuck Buttons – The Lisbon Maru

Electronic post-rock, you know it’s awesome…

Enjoy these tunes and your weekend

We can’t give you any songs but you can listen to some on their myspace. Frontal Noize will soon provide the IWIK distribution in Belgium, so check their website from time to time to stay up to date!
